Main Purpose: The R&D Greenhouse Vegetable Grower leads the evaluation, development, and commercialization of high-tech greenhouse vegetable varieties. This role focuses on optimizing flavor, yield, quality, and resource efficiency by designing and managing crop trials, refining crop management practices, and collaborating across teams to bring innovative products to market. Position Requirements: Engineer or Bachelor In Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Biotechnology, Controlled Environment agriculture, Agricultural Technology Management or related field. Master desired. English advanced. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in high-tech greenhouse vegetable production or crop trialing, with direct experience growing cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes. Hands-on expertise in high-tech greenhouse systems (incl. climate, irrigation, fertigation, IPM). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret trial data and draw actionable insights. Knowledge and Technical Requirements Crop nutrient requirements and fertigation strategies Plant Physiology Data management and analysis Pests and Diseases Quality/Food Safety Management Systems (HACCP, SQF, ISOs, GMPs, GAPs). Key Job Accountabilities: Manage the R&D cultivation of cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers in high-tech greenhouse environments, ensuring optimal plant health and crop performance. Design, implement, and manage crop trials that evaluate new varieties for flavor, yield, quality, and resource efficiency. Select new varieties that meet strategic product concepts for pipeline advancement or commercial replacement, supporting new product launches. Develop and deploy agronomic protocols for new varieties in collaboration with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless scale-up and performance under commercial conditions. Optimize agricultural practices including climate, irrigation, nutrition, and pest/disease control, using data-driven approaches and integrated pest management (IPM). Recommend variety and rootstock combinations that align with current and future product offerings. Evaluate and implement new cultivation and monitoring technologies to improve trial precision, crop productivity, and resource efficiency. Location: Querétaro.
