Mechanical Design Engineer Rochester, Kent Full time/Permanent Competitive Salary Benefits A new opportunity has opened up for a driven and detail-focused Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering environment. You’ll play a key role in the design and delivery of bespoke industrial equipment, working alongside a dedicated team of engineers to develop high-quality solutions from concept through to manufacture and installation. What You’ll Be Doing: Creating accurate 2D and 3D models using DraftSight and SolidWorks Producing detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, cut lists, and technical documentation Managing project timelines, design reviews, and issuing work to the design and production teams Liaising with suppliers, monitoring material and component stock, and supporting the procurement process Working collaboratively with internal teams and customers to ensure projects are delivered to specification Identifying process improvements and supporting accurate quoting and planning through design and build estimates What We’re Looking For: Previous experience in an engineering environment Proficiency in SolidWorks, DraftSight, and Microsoft Office applications Strong understanding of material selection Organised, methodical, and confident working both independently and in a team A full UK driving licence is required Experience in designing processing equipment is highly desirable What You’ll Get: Competitive salary, negotiable based on experience 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Workplace pension and PPE provided This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving engineering challenges and seeing their designs come to life in a hands-on production setting.
