Shop Manager (Furniture) Annual Salary: £24,365 (rising to £25,368 upon review and satisfactory performance) pro-rata, per annum Location: Leith, Edinburgh Job Type: Temp to Perm, Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Benefits: Unsocial Hours Enhancement, Pension, Additional Benefits We are excited to announce an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our client's team as a Shop Manager for their new Furniture Warehouse. This pivotal role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the furniture shop and team, ensuring the shop achieves its maximum trading potential. Day-to-day of the role: Manage the overall operations of the furniture shop, ensuring effective performance and meeting sales targets. Foster good working relationships with the logistics company for efficient uplifts and deliveries, as well as with customers and the warehouse team. Ensure the shop is operated effectively, with a focus on maximizing sales and profitability while enhancing the awareness of the Hospice within the community. Oversee the pricing, display, and sale of furniture items, ensuring they are attractive and competitively priced. Manage part-time workers and volunteers, providing line management assistance and handling minor disciplinary/behavioural issues. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, particularly in manual handling and shop operations. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in retail management, preferably in furniture or charity sector retail. Strong leadership skills with experience managing a diverse team of volunteers and part-time workers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong relationships. Experience in cash handling and familiarity with Gift Aid processes. Competence in using electronic till systems and basic computer software. Ability to work weekends as required by the job demands.
