Job Title: CNC Turner – Precision Engineering Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire Salary: £37,570 per annum (based on 2-shift pattern) Contract: Full-time, permanent This is precision work in a place that’s set up to do it properly. You’ll be producing components that end up in some of the world’s most demanding engineering environments, where quality, accuracy and consistency really matter. From setting up the job to signing it off, you’ll be trusted to take ownership of your work and know that what you’re making is being used in something important.We’re supporting a well-established international manufacturer that continues to invest in its people, processes and production capabilities. As part of their growing team in Sheffield, you’ll be based in a clean, well-organised workshop, surrounded by people who know what they’re doing and take pride in getting things right.This is a permanent role, working on a two-shift pattern, with structure, support and long-term backing. What you’ll be doing: Set up, load and operate CNC turning machines Produce parts to exact specification, working from drawings and technical documentation Use manual and CMM inspection tools to verify accuracy Keep your work area clean, safe and well organised Work collaboratively with the wider team to maintain high standards of quality and output What you’ll need: Previous experience in a CNC Turning role, ideally within aerospace, automotive or similar high-spec engineering working to tight tolerance and exotic metals Confident reading and working from technical drawings Skilled with Verniers, Micrometers, Gauges and other inspection tools Either apprenticeship-trained or with solid industry experience A reliable, hands-on approach and strong team focus Nice to have: Experience using CMM inspection equipment What’s in it for you: £37,570 per annum based on a 2-shift pattern (£19.53 per hour) Morning and Afternoon shift pattern with an early finish every Friday 185 hours of annual leave plus 3 additional paid days during Christmas shutdown Option to buy or sell up to 37 hours of holiday in March All bank holidays included Health and wellbeing support: Free hot drinks every Friday Employee Assistance Programme, including two rounds of counselling sessions each year 24/7 GP access via the YuLife app YuLife rewards for healthy habits, redeemable at major retailers Westfield Health Scheme Critical illness cover Additional financial benefits: 5% company pension contribution, with the option to increase Discounts on gym memberships, shopping and more through Bravo Benefits Salary sacrifice scheme for electric or hybrid vehicles Who you’re dealing with: At Verus, we work with engineering businesses that value skill, reliability and attention to detail.
