Travel Nurse RN - Oncology - $2,413 per week in Columbus, OH

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology, Chemo Certified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Rotation Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required License: Valid state or compact nursing license required at the time of submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemo Certification Must-Have: - Chemo Certification required - Minimum 2 years of nursing experience Description: The unit specializes in Acute Leukemia and Hematology. Nurses may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on department needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period. Changes to assignments are based on staffing priorities and are not guaranteed. First-time travelers are not accepted. The focus is primarily on caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. Staffing ratios aim for 1:4, but may vary to 1:5. Weekend shifts are variable based on unit needs. Scheduling does not have set blocks, but self-schedule requests are accepted before finalization. The first-week orientation includes Monday through Friday day shifts. The second week consists of 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor. There is a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Skills Required: - Telemetry interpretation of dysrhythmias - Telemetry monitoring - Use of rapid response teams - Feeding tube care and management - IV therapy and phlebotomy - Blood product administration - Central line blood draw - Peripheral line care/management - PICC line management - Starting IVs Computerized Charting: - Experience with EPIC is preferred. Compliance Requirements: Candidates must comply with the fingerprinting process as required. Those traveling from outside the area may need to mail a fingerprinting packet. Reference requirements include two professional references. At least one reference must come from a manager or someone in a formal leadership role. Former employees may be eligible for a travel assignment after being away for six months. Current employees are ineligible for traveler positions.
