Travel Nurse RN - PCU - $2,173 per week in Columbus, OH

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night and Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Valid compact or state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Computerized charting experience, specifically with Epic Description: This is a mixed acuity unit that cares for both PCU and Med Surg patients. This is a very busy surgical floor. All permanent staff is PCU trained. Staffing ratios aim for 1:4 but can be 1:5. Weekends are variable based on unit needs. There is no set or blocked scheduling. Self-scheduling requests should be made to see preferred schedules before posting. The first week of orientation is Monday through Friday on day shift. The second week consists of 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor. Nurses may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination based on department needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and depend on staffing priorities. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Patient diagnoses include surgical oncology and various cancer types. Special procedures may involve chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and managing oncologic emergencies. There is a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls. Preferred certifications include ONS and Chemo.
