About the role As our Trainee Vehicle Maintenance Operative at our Work Services Unit, youll benefit from a structured training programme from a 36-month Level 3 Apprenticeship in light vehicle service & maintenance. Youll also get hands on practical experience and training in the workplace working with our vehicles, helping you towards the goal of becoming an experienced vehicle mechanic. Youll gain the skills and experience to let you service, maintain and repair a range of vehicles, plant and machinery to a high standard. This is a career-graded role through with movement through the grades being dependent on satisfactory progression whilst undertaking relevant training. This position is a fixed term contract with a 36-month duration. About you Youll have a keen, demonstrable interest in vehicle mechanics, ideally with some practical experience through hobbies, work or other activities that will give you some skills and knowledge that we can then help you build upon. A full driving license is needed as well as GCSE Maths and English grade C A* (or Grade 4 or above) as required to fulfil the minimum educational requirements for an apprenticeship programme. Please note that due to enrolment dates of the apprenticeship you will need to be available to commence employment with us by early / mid September.
