Teaching Assistant - SEN - DBS Required

Have you ever wanted to get into teaching and support young people? My client is looking to train people into becoming teaching assistants. To support the class teacher in the development and education of children, including those with special needs. Responsibilities include: Assisting in delivering and evaluating programs. Adapting teaching materials for individual pupils and groups. Providing encouragement, reassurance, and comfort. Attending to personal requirements and physical care while promoting independence. Clinically assessing pupils and determining medical interventions. Liaising with parents and medical professionals. Work Context The school provides context regarding the physical environment, challenges, and type of school, including its location, size, and age group. Representative Accountabilities Support Delivery: Provide 1-1 and group support, monitor pupil performance, and maintain the learning environment. Planning and Organising: Plan tasks, ensure materials and equipment availability, and contribute to activity planning. Analysis, Reporting, and Documentation: Record activities and observations for submission to supervisors. Work with Others: Respond to individual needs, report concerns, and liaise with parents, visitors, and contractors. Duties for All Uphold the values and behaviors of the organization. Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Basic numeracy and literacy (e.g., GCSE qualification in English and Maths). Ability to work towards Vocational Qualifications Level 1. Basic understanding of health and safety regulations. Basic IT skills and ability to operate basic equipment. Good listening skills and enthusiasm to learn. Accuracy and ability to follow instructions. Confidence in spoken, written, and comprehension aspects of the role. May require manual handling and physically demanding work.
