Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE The dump truck driver is responsible for operating a super 18 dump truck to transport asphalt, aggregate and other materials to various job site locations. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Operates truck in a safe and professional manner while complying with Amrize's safety standards including all state and federal regulations. Performs daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines. Punctual and prepared to load at the assigned scheduled time at all times. Effectively communicates with dispatch department Performs preventive maintenance such as regularly checking air pressure in tires, checks fluid levels including oil, hydraulic, coolant and fuel. Performs minor repairs to truck as needed; refers major issues to supervisor. Maintain appearance of truck. Maintain professional attitude with all internal and external customers and peers both in person and on radio communications while providing excellent customer service. Other duties as assigned. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Licenses Required: Valid Class B CDL (tanker endorsement preferred) Minimum of one year of related work experience Manual Transmissiontruck Prior experience working in contracting, construction materials or transporting equipment preferred Ability to communicate effectively verbally and writing. Ability to do basic mathematical calculations Must pass DOT physical and have clean driving record Must be registered for the FMCSA Clearinghouse Must be willing to work in dusty and dirty work environments. May be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles. Noise level is low to moderate Must be willing and able to work in all outside weather conditions. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty and job sites. May require sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs regularly. Additional Requirements: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
