Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Ph.D. Candidate for a Research Assistantship within the Pediatric Pulmonology Global Program to service as a Global *Research Assistant*. This role will involve conducting cutting-edge research focused on pediatric respiratory diseases, with an emphasis on global health and disparities. The ideal candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, researchers, and international collaborators to address key challenges in pediatric pulmonary health across diverse populations. *Specific Duties & Responsibilities* * Conduct original research in pediatric pulmonology with a focus on global health and health disparities. * Analyze and interpret complex data sets from clinical studies and global health fieldwork. * Collaborate with faculty, medical professionals, and international partners to implement research initiatives and programs. * Contribute to writing and publishing research papers, conference abstracts, and grant proposals. * Participate in team meetings, presenting research findings and contributing to scientific discussions. * Assist with the development and evaluation of global health interventions and community-based programs related to pediatric pulmonary diseases. *Minimum Qualifications* * Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. *Preferred Qualifications* * Currently enrolled in or accepted into a Ph.D. program in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Medicine, Global Health, Respiratory Medicine). * Strong background in epidemiology, clinical research, or biomedical sciences. * Proficiency with data analysis and statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Stata). * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. * A strong passion for global health and improving healthcare outcomes for pediatric populations. * Previous research experience in pediatric pulmonology, global health, or related fields. * Familiarity with international research protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements. * Experience in grant writing and manuscript preparation. Classified Title: Research Assistant Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/03/CD Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $32.00 HRLY (Commensurate w/exp.) Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications. Education and Experience Equivalency Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
