This position is essential in providing exceptional nursing care to our patients, promoting their well-being and recovery in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive intake assessments through interviews with patients and their families to gather detailed case histories. - Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients experiencing emotional disturbances. - Perform nursing diagnoses to ascertain the medical and emotional status of patients, recommending appropriate treatment options. - Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to develop and execute tailored treatment plans. - Administer and monitor the effects of psychotropic medications and other relevant treatments. - Facilitate further medical attention when necessary and document all patient information accurately in medical records. - Assist clients in understanding their emotional challenges and the importance of treatment. - Maintain a safe and secure environment for both staff and patients, including performing vital signs assessments and pain management interventions. - Ensure patient confidentiality and uphold high medical recordkeeping standards regarding treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results. - Support administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, typing, and updating progress notes within the computer system. - Provide excellent, high-quality service to patients and the public, addressing requests for assistance or making appropriate referrals. Requirements: - Current RN License (New York License ONLY) - BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY) - CPI Certification (Blue Card) - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting Behavior Characteristics: Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic patient care, work collaboratively within a team, and maintain a high standard of professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
