TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Charlottesville, Virginia, 22903! Pay Information $2,046 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 22 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Valid state license required; pending licenses accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Epic experience - Charge experience - Patient ratio experience of 1:3 Description: This is a 12-bed unit utilizing critical care and neuroscience principles at the Intermediate level. Common patient populations include patients transferring from the Neuro ICU. The unit cares for patients who have experienced neuro trauma, hemorrhages, and cancer surgeries. Common procedures include post-operative spine care and a wide range of neurological issues. Patient ratio is 1:3 during the night shift. Every other weekend shift is required, with the expectation to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays. 40 hours may be approved for time off. Candidates must adhere to the float policy as required. BLS, ACLS certifications are mandatory. NIHSS certification is required before starting but may be submitted pending. Experience in arterial line management, blood product administration, and management of vasoactive drips is needed. Candidates must be familiar with neuro stepdown care and monitoring patients with various neurological disorders. Additional skills required include managing feeding tubes, lumbar drains, and non-invasive airway management. Experience in telemetry and post-surgical care for neurology patients is essential. Interdisciplinary support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
