Duty Manager – Full-Time Location: Richmond Starting Salary: £29,562 per annum Are you an organised, confident, and customer-focused individual with a background in health and fitness? About the Role We are seeking a full-time Duty Manager to help oversee the daily operations of a busy fitness and leisure centre. You'll play a key role in ensuring that the facility is clean, safe, and well-staffed, so that every customer has a positive experience. You'll be responsible for supporting the management team in delivering high standards across all areas, with a particular focus on sales and customer engagement. You'll also be involved in pool plant operations, including chemical checks and maintenance tasks. Key Responsibilities: Day-to-day supervision of the leisure centre operations Ensuring excellent customer service and smooth visitor experience Handling membership enquiries and conducting tours Overseeing health and safety, staffing levels, and facility cleanliness Performing water quality tests and plant room duties, including chemical top-ups and backwashing Working Hours: This is a 36-hour per week role on a shift rota, which includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and weekday shifts. What You'll Need: Recognised qualification in sport, fitness, recreation, management or sales (essential) National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) (essential) Pool Plant Operator qualification (essential*) First Aid qualification (desirable) Experience in a fitness environment or a sales role, and a solid understanding of sales processes *We may consider applicants who are willing to gain the Pool Plant qualification upon starting.
