House of Shipping's commitment to their customers begins with developing an understanding of their business fundamentals. Currently House of Shipping is recruiting for Business Development Executive for a Leading global freight forwarding company. Key Responsibilities: • Sales and Business Development: • Actively promote and sell company services to new and existing customers, targeting both SME and large businesses. • Continuously secure new business opportunities and meet or exceed monthly/annual revenue and gross profit targets. • Identify and pursue leads, register opportunities in the CRM system, and manage the sales pipeline effectively. • Ensure accurate recording of customer data, leads, and sales activities in the CRM system. Relationship Management: • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to drive repeat business and customer retention. • Regularly engage with customers through meetings and follow-ups to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions. • Negotiate terms and pricing with customers, adhering to company guidelines while maximizing profitability. Market Representation & Promotion: • Represent company at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities to raise brand awareness. • Actively promote company’s core services and products in the market, contributing to the company’s reputation as a leading service provider. • Promote consolidation products and services to maximize opportunities for growth and profitability. Coordination with other Branches: • Collaborate with other branches to align on strategies and support global business opportunities. • Participate in joint sales efforts and identify cross border business opportunities to enhance network performance. • Share market intelligence and lead with colleagues in other regions to support companywide growth. Strategic Planning & Market Analysis: • Identify and evaluate market opportunities, actively contributing to sales strategies that drive business growth. • Regularly participate in sales meetings, providing insights on customer needs, market trends, and competitor activity. • Gather and share market intelligence to support the development of broader business strategies. Operational Collaboration: • Work closely with the Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure customer needs are met and service levels are maintained. • Ensure the smooth execution of customer orders and support customer service in delivering high quality solutions. • Financial and Administrative Responsibility: • Follow up with customers to ensure timely payments and support the receivables team in managing outstanding balances. • Provide feedback to management regarding customer satisfaction and opportunities for improvement in services. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): • Achievement of monthly/annual sales and gross profit targets. • Number of new customers acquired, and revenue generated. • Customer satisfaction and retention rates. • Contribution to joint sales efforts and cross-border business opportunities. • Timeliness and accuracy of CRM data input and reporting. • Conversion of sales leads into revenue generating business. Key interactions (Internal | External) External: Customers | Trade summits | Internal: | Sales & BD | Finance | HR | Operations | Management | Branch offices Education requirements • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. Language requirements • English – Fluent (required) Preferred Background and experience • Experience in freight forwarding or logistics is an advantage. • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in the freight forwarding or logistics industry. • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating revenue. Competencies and skills • Strong understanding of the market and its business dynamics. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently with a self-motivated and disciplined approach. • Proficiency in using CRM and ERP systems for tracking sales and customer information. • Strong strategic thinking and market analysis skills. • Experience in coordinating across branches or regions to drive business growth.
