Pay Information $2,398 per week About The Position Job Title: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Current State RN Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required Must-Have: Critical care experience preferred Description: The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse will provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in a critical care environment. This includes offering physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients. Anticipated patient populations may include pediatrics, pre and post PCI care, pacemaker management, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, sepsis, and a wide range of surgical services. The nurse will care for patients who are in relative stability while recognizing that some diagnoses may require advanced assessment and intervention for potential deterioration. Responsibilities include operating advanced medical equipment, such as central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, arterial lines, multiple IVs, and caring for patients requiring short-term ventilation support. The nurse will also provide care to general medical and surgical patients in the inpatient unit. The role requires the ability to assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision. The nurse will act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff. Direct care for patients will be provided from admission to discharge, including discharge planning. Candidates must possess advanced nursing principles and procedures knowledge, with critical care experience preferred.
