Job Title and Reporting: Store Lead, reporting to the Multi-Store Lead Hourly Wage: Starting at $17.05 per hour up to $7 per hour in tips FLSA Status: Hourly / Nonexempt / Full-Time Location: OR056River RD Beltline (2021 River Rd, Eugene, OR 97404) Position Overview. As the Store Lead, you are self-driven and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, while consistently demonstrating servant leadership toward all team members. Your primary responsibility is to cultivate a positive atmosphere that offers fast, efficient, and friendly service. You will facilitate training, customer service, product knowledge, and education, promote safe work practices, and uphold Black Rock Coffee Bar’s values, policies, and procedures. Store Leads oversee daily operations and lead by example, setting the tone for the success of each team member and location. Services and Duties. As the Store Lead, you are responsible for ensuring day-to-day success across your location through operational execution, Team Member development, and guest experience. You embody Black Rock’s standards and values while creating an environment where people can grow and thrive. Your essential duties and key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversees the store’s daily operations with full ownership of store performance across SPOC. Leads and communicates Black Rock’s values, policies, and expectations while modeling accountability, professionalism, and servant leadership. Executes hiring, onboarding, and training processes in partnership with your Multi-Store Lead. Approves timecards, ensure accurate labor reporting, employee approvals and disputes, and manages meal and rest period compliance. Creates and publishes the store’s schedule in accordance with availability, time-off policies, and operational needs. Delivers consistent coaching and performance feedback, including issuing corrective action when necessary. Facilitates 1:1s and quarterly store meetings with your Team Members to provide clarity, support, and alignment. Organizes quarterly team outings to foster morale, engagement and culture. Maintains appropriate shift coverage, including covering gaps due to call outs or scheduling needs. Leads daily off-bar responsibilities including task lists, money management, Nexonia submission, operational walkthroughs, etc. Ensures store safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and communicated promptly to Multi-Store Lead and HR. Take proactive steps to resolve equipment issues and general store concerns quickly. Attends and actively participates in required leadership meetings as scheduled. Leads by example, working a minimum of 32 hours per week on bar to stay close to the operations of the store and connection with your team. Store Leads are expected to perform barista responsibilities during their on-bar hours. These include: Warmly welcomes customers and Team Members to create a positive, engaging environment. Maintains speed-of-service expectations without compromising beverage quality or guest interaction. Prepares and serves coffee, espresso, and non-coffee beverages using standard equipment. Ensures a clean and organized workspace and customer area, following all health and safety guidelines. Accurately processes cash and digital transactions, including third-party orders. Promotes seasonal offerings and new product launches. Assists in inventory management and restock product displays as needed. Mentors new Team Members during training, ensuring adherence to standards. Supports with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and operational tasks. Addresses customer concerns and complaints with professionalism and urgency. Participates in line busting and mobile order execution, including outdoor or drive-thru settings. Work Environment. This position operates primarily on-site within a retail store environment. Store Leads are expected to be active participants in the day-to-day operations, including leadership duties and barista responsibilities. The essential duties of this role require the ability to perform the following physical tasks: Constant standing and walking throughout shifts to support store operations and guest interactions. Prolonged periods of sitting or standing while completing administrative tasks such as scheduling, approving timecards, and submitting documentation. Effective verbal and written communication skills for coaching, team collaboration, and completing written records or reports. Manual dexterity to operate POS systems, mobile devices, laptops, and other office or kitchen equipment. Visual acuity to review schedules, inventory, performance metrics, and written documentation. Auditory ability to actively listen and respond to Team Members and guests in a fast-paced environment. Mobility to navigate all areas of the store, including front of house, back of house, and storage. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
