By helping build and oversee our various services and applications, training opportunities, and protecting our evolving threats to national security - you'll be on the frontline with us. Personnel Security Specialists at the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) are responsible for ensuring that individuals granted access to classified information are trustworthy and pose no risk to national security. They achieve this by reviewing, evaluating, and adjudicating investigative reports, personnel files, and other records to determine whether to grant, deny, revoke, suspend, or restrict security clearances. Benefits: Medical, dental and vision insurance Life insurance Flexible spending account Thrift savings plan Paid time off Responsibilities: Review and Evaluate: Personnel Security Specialists analyze information from various sources, including background investigations, to assess an individual's suitability for access to classified information. Adjudication: They make informed decisions regarding security clearances, determining whether an individual meets the standards for access based on established criteria. Risk Management: They identify and mitigate potential risks to national security by identifying individuals who may not be suitable for access to classified information. Policy and Procedure Development: They may participate in the development of new and revised security requirements and policies. Customer Service: They provide guidance and support to individuals and organizations regarding security policies and procedures. Data Collection and Analysis: They may collect, triage, and assemble data to create preliminary risk profiles and conduct initial reviews of these profiles. Continuous Vetting: They participate in the continuous vetting process to ensure that individuals continue to meet security requirements Requirements: U.S. citizenship is a mandatory requirement. Security Clearance: Applicants must be eligible for and obtain a security clearance, often a Secret or Top Secret clearance. Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field (like security, criminal justice, or a related field) is often required. Experience: Typically, 3-5 years of experience in personnel security, or a related field like security management, is expected.
