Diesel Technician

The Diesel Technician performs diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment. True North Equipment has been in business since 1949 and operates 10 locations with over 200 employees across two states in the Red River Valley. Responsibilities include: Perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products. Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to develop skills and knowledge. Support customer training and clinics. Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products. Keep vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment in good condition. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Complete reports and forms related to work assignments. Account for all time and materials used. Perform diagnosis and repair in the field if needed. Forklift experience and license are preferred. Maintain reliable attendance and work regular Service Department hours. Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in service repairs. Ability to perform repairs using specialized tools and follow technical manuals. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in agricultural and turf equipment. Skills in operating diagnostic vehicles and equipment. Proficiency with Service Advisor and basic computer functions. Ability to maintain positive relationships with customers and co-workers. High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred. Valid driver’s license and work authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Work Schedule: Regular hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm (off-season); Seasonal hours: Mon-Fri 7:30am-5:30pm, every other Saturday 7:30am-12pm, with seasonal extended and on-call hours.
