Grace Job Description As a part of the Global Supply Chain Organization, this position will be responsible for developing weekly control reports that demonstrate the performance of processes, gaps, and deliverables. This role will lead purchasing of finished goods for Grace USA facilities sourced from Grace locations outside of the USA, primarily for warehouses in Baltimore (Cabot), Houston, and to some extent in Chicago (an externally managed facility). The main goal is ensuring the accuracy of purchasing orders, timely arrival for customer commitments, and active communication regarding delays to support resolution, while maintaining and improving SOPs and processes. The Import Controller will partner with business stakeholders and the product management team to drive a reliable supply plan that meets NA demand for imported materials. The role requires discipline to execute activities effectively. Strategic contributions include a strong understanding of Material Requirement Planning and Import Management, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve inventory management. This role involves determining when Interco POs of finished goods need to be placed with sourced Grace plants (mainly Worms, Germany, and Sorocaba, Brazil) and coordinating updates to the POs process to prevent stockouts and overstock situations. The Import Controller will be responsible for maintaining SAP MRP Master Data parameters, creating and updating SOPs and Work Instructions. Responsibilities Running reports in SAP daily or weekly and executing purchasing activities, including converting order proposals into POs considering inventory, sales orders, forecasts, and lead times. Evaluating order recommendations, making analyses, and consulting with managers or colleagues when necessary. Monitoring purchase orders and shipments, proactively following up with sourcing plants, export entities, and import brokers. Utilizing AI-enabled tools like Grace’s P44 subscription to monitor shipment statuses and receive alerts. Coordinating with regional forwarding teams to expedite shipments, including direct and air shipments, and working with freight forwarders and drayage providers. Handling urgent customer requests by coordinating with freight forwarders for expedited shipments. Working closely with Supply Planners to resolve any material supply issues. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Administration or related fields, preferably with training in customer service, logistics, or foreign trade. Advanced English skills (written, listening, speaking). Good SAP skills (SD, MM, PP). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Experience Minimum 2 years in roles such as Import Controller, Purchasing Planner, Import Planner, Customer Service, or similar within logistics and industry. Preferred Qualifications Experience or training in logistics, foreign trade, or purchasing planning.
