Freelance Opportunity – Internal Auditor / HR Payroll SME (Netherlands) Protiviti is currently looking for a freelance Internal Auditor with strong expertise in HR and Payroll processes in the Dutch market for our client specialized in the energy sector. Assignment Overview Role : Internal Auditor with Payroll/HR knowledge Location : Netherlands-based (remote possible) Start : End of July Duration : October Language : Dutch (required) Scope of Work The assignment focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of the salary administration process , including the design, existence, and—where applicable—the operational effectiveness of key controls. The review will cover areas such as: Input and accuracy of salary data Payroll calculations Social security and tax deductions Pension contributions Leave and vacation processing Other salary-related payments The role of HR is also in scope, particularly around the accuracy of personnel data, contractual agreements, and salary components. Knowledge of Dutch regulations and payroll standards is essential. Ideal Profile Proven experience in internal audit , ideally with exposure to HR/payroll processes In-depth understanding of Dutch payroll and labor legislation Able to collaborate with both audit and operational stakeholders Fluent in Dutch (written and spoken) Availability during the summer holiday period (July–October) Experience with payroll service providers (e.g., ADP) is a plus
