Telecoms Hardware Engineer

Our client is expanding their team in the Rotterdam area and is looking for a Telecoms Hardware Specialist to join their dynamic operations. We're seeking dedicated individuals who thrive in a hands-on environment, working with cutting-edge telecoms equipment within a large logistics warehouse. In this role, you'll be involved in a range of activities, which may include: Receiving, preparing, and processing new telecoms equipment for deployment. Performing staging, configuration, and testing on various routers (e.g., Cisco, FortiGate), switches, and APs . Loading configurations, performing wiring, and handling power and fibre cabling within racks. Conducting testing, diagnostics, and repair activities on telecoms equipment returned from the field. Tackling challenging fault diagnostics and finding effective solutions. Accurately recording results and updating customer systems. Providing technical guidance to colleagues and ensuring excellent customer service. What we're looking for: At least 3 years of experience in Telecoms or IT, with a strong focus on hardware. Essential knowledge and hands-on experience with telecoms equipment, including routers, switches (Cisco, Fortinet), and new technologies like SD-WAN. Proficiency in loading configurations onto telecoms hardware. Experience with customer premises telecoms equipment. A background in field service (customer installs or maintenance) is a significant advantage. Familiarity with Desktop operating systems (Windows) and Office Suites. Cisco CCNA or other relevant certifications are a plus. Strong communication skills, a proactive and flexible attitude, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
