Pilot Plant Technician in Utrecht Fulltime

For our client, a leading research and innovation center specializing in specialized nutrition, located in Utrecht, we are looking for a Pilot Plant Technician who is eager to support product developers and process technologists in producing high-quality products using advanced manufacturing methods. About the Job: In this role, you will work in the pilot plant at the Research and Innovation Center in Utrecht. You are responsible for preparing and conducting trials, producing pilot-phase products, and testing processes based on input from the technologists. Since the technologists are your internal clients, a flexible and service-oriented attitude is essential to assist them with their research questions. With your knowledge of the equipment, you are a vital member of the specialized nutrition organization. Together with colleagues from the Shelf Life department, Food Science & Technology lab, and Product & Process Development teams, you ensure the smooth execution of pilot plant trials. You will have the opportunity to learn about processes such as pasteurization, sterilization, and homogenization. You take ownership of your work and add value to the team through your proactive mindset and willingness to support colleagues where needed. Your other responsibilities include: Preparing trials by weighing raw materials, setting up equipment, and packaging Executing pilot plant trials requested by product and process developers Keeping the pilot plant clean and organized Assisting with warehouse management and minor maintenance tasks Ensuring a safe and compliant work environment in line with food safety standards (ISO 22000) About You: We are looking for a hands-on pilot plant technician with a passion for food processing and an interest in food ingredients. You bring: An MBO (or equivalent) degree in Food & Process Technology, and/or VAPRO C with a food background Experience in food processing is preferred An open communication style and eagerness to learn A proactive mindset Experience in quality- and safety-regulated environments (ISO 22000 / 9001) is a plus Proficiency in English; Dutch is a plus About our Client: Our client is a leading research center for specialized nutrition located in the Utrecht Science Park.
