Cover Supervisor – Partner Secondary School – Northamptonshire Location: Northamptonshire Hours: 32 hours per week, Term Time Only (39 weeks per year) Contract: Permanent | Start Date: September 2025 Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a successful and high-performing secondary school in Northamptonshire to recruit a Cover Supervisor to join their dedicated team from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive environment where students consistently achieve outcomes above the national average. The Role: As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure that students remain on task and engaged with their learning. When not covering lessons, you may also support teachers with general classroom duties. Key Responsibilities: Supervise students across a range of subjects using work provided by teaching staff Maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies Provide additional support to teaching staff as required The Ideal Candidate Will: Be confident managing a classroom and leading learning in the teacher’s absence Have a calm, adaptable, and professional manner Be enthusiastic about working with young people Ideally have experience in a secondary school setting (desirable but not essential) Be considering a career in education – this role may include the opportunity to progress toward a teaching qualification with school support Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 3:30pm Friday: 8:00am – 3:00pm Includes two unpaid breaks, totalling 60 minutes daily Term time only (39 weeks per year) What We Offer Through Teaching Personnel: Competitive weekly pay via PAYE Access to CPD and professional development opportunities Ongoing support from a dedicated recruitment consultant Opportunities to work with a range of local partner schools If you are enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to take the next step in your education career, we’d love to hear from you.
