Job Title: Taxi Driver Location: Swindon, Wiltshire Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, plus tips Reporting To: Transport Manager / Dispatcher Job Summary: We are looking for professional, courteous, and safety-conscious Taxi Drivers to serve passengers throughout Swindon and the surrounding areas. This role requires a good knowledge of local roads and landmarks, a strong commitment to customer service, and the necessary licensing as per Swindon Borough Council regulations. Key Responsibilities: Pick up and drop off passengers safely and efficiently within Swindon and neighbouring towns. Navigate routes using GPS or local road knowledge to avoid traffic and delays. Provide friendly and professional service to all customers, including helping with luggage and offering assistance when required. Accurately collect fares via cash, card, or mobile apps in line with council-approved fare rates. Keep the vehicle clean, presentable, and in good working order. Report any incidents, breakdowns, or customer issues to dispatch or management promptly. Maintain accurate trip logs and vehicle records as required. Requirements: Full UK driving licence (held for a minimum of 12 months). Valid Hackney Carriage or Private Hire Licence issued by Swindon Borough Council. Good geographical knowledge of Swindon and Wiltshire. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Smart appearance and polite manner. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Desirable: Experience as a taxi or private hire driver.
