For our R&D team at inepro Metering, we are looking for an experienced Software Developer with a strong interest in the measurement, registration, and visualization of electricity consumption. About the Role As a Software Developer at inepro Metering, you will design and develop software used in energy meters and energy management applications. You will play an active role in the ongoing energy transition by developing new features for our measurement devices and the surrounding ecosystem. Your work includes developing custom firmware for our energy meters, application software for communication interface modules, and edge computing algorithms that process data close to the source. These solutions are used to collect, process, and transmit energy data in applications such as EV charging infrastructure, building management, and industrial systems. You’ll work closely with hardware and software developers in multidisciplinary and international teams, where collaboration and innovation are key. What We’re Looking For You are a technically skilled software developer with a strong background in embedded systems and a passion for building efficient, reliable software that interacts closely with hardware. You understand the challenges of measurement and control systems and strive for precision and innovation in your work. Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field Minimum of 4 years of professional software development experience, with proven embedded software expertise Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and embedded platforms Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages Familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, or Ethernet Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams Additional Knowledge: Electronic design principles and ARM Cortex-M or similar architectures Scripting languages like Python for testing and automation Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git) Test-driven development (TDD) practices Experience or interest in smart metering, EV-charging, Energy Management Systems, or Smart Grid technologies is a plus About inepro Metering inepro Metering is a Dutch manufacturer of advanced electricity meters and smart energy services, headquartered in Nieuw-Vennep, with an office in China and partnerships in China and India.
