Job Description

Objective: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management & execution of international and domestic logistics operations. The coordinator will be a partner with planning, pricing, order management, customer service, and third-party service providers. The coordinator sets the objectives/goals for the logistics department within the projected timeframe and budget and works towards their implementation. The coordinator is responsible for using lean tools in the work environment to ensure continuous improvement within the department. The Logistics Coordinator will report to the Operations Manager. Major Duties and Responsibilities: The complete process of shipment includes arranging for pick-up or inland transportation, booking, document preparation (bill of lading, invoicing, certificate of origin, export declaration), forwarding, follow-up with tracking and tracing to the final destination, and data quality requirements. Participate in quotes for project-oriented shipments and assist in handling as requested. Maintain SOP (standard operating procedures) and customer profiles, including key contacts, special requirements, contract rates, and preferred routings/services/carriers. Responsible for identifying root causes and implementing corrective & preventive actions for the issues to ensure the smooth flow of work. Resolves emergent issues for expedited deliveries to the customer. Customer Service responsibilities include maintaining communication with vendor, shipper, customer, carrier, and overseas offices throughout the process and choosing the proper routing appropriate to the customer's and suppliers' needs. Develop and manage logistics suppliers and scorecards on continuous improvement in the areas of cost, performance, and service level. Review/negotiate freight rates with carriers and determine the most efficient and cost-effective method of moving freight to ensure the maximum profitability. Arranging bookings; coordinating freight movement with customers, carriers, agents, and third parties, from port to destination, including pick up, storage, and delivery to ensure customer satisfaction. Preparing and processing documentation according to established procedures and regulations, along with the customer's requirements. Ensure accurate preparation and processing of export documentation supporting export compliance and document retention requirements according to governing agency and/or corporate policy. Knowledge of and experience with all shipping functions, foreign and domestic, including domestic air bills, international commercial invoices, and letters of instruction required. Operational duties to include coordination with shippers, truckers,s and steamship lines' offices for the export of shipments. Resolve issues respective to meeting client requirements, data input, and general customer service inquiries related to tracking & tracing. Collaborates with Trade Services to arrange inspections, when required Achieve goals within budget. Use lean tools to ensure continuous improvement in the department. Is self-aware and ability to work on their own initiative. Shows moral courage, openness, and honesty in all dealings. Minimum Qualification: Education level : Preferably Post Graduate or Master's in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or in a relevant field Experience : Minimum 5 years’ experience required in a similar field, and preferably with min 4 years’ experience in a team lead role. Specific knowledge, skill, ability, and requirements : Excellent knowledge of standard logistics procedures and practices. Good time management ability Good understanding of financial, HR/Admin, and Safety procedures. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Excellent analytical, communication, and representative skills. Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management Ability to adapt, multitask, and deal with stressful situations. Ability to work within and motivate the team. Organizational and Coordination abilities. Quick problem-solving abilities Excellent customer service and client relations skills.
