Junior Maintenance Engineer Monday - Friday: 8am - 4pm (occasional travel and overnight stays required) £30,000 per annum People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Junior Maintenance Engineer to join our well-established client based in East Kilbride on a full-time permanent basis. Benefits Opportunity to travel across the UK and Ireland Hands-on experience in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment Career development within a leading company in the food industry Supportive team culture that values practical learning All travel and accommodation expenses covered when working away Tools and PPE provided Permanent role Day to Day Duties Carrying out mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment within a busy manufacturing facility in East Kilbride Diagnosing faults and repairing machinery to minimise downtime Working with experienced engineers on planned maintenance and reactive breakdowns Travelling to customer sites across the UK and Ireland (approximately once every six weeks), including occasional overnight stays Supporting process improvements and ensuring equipment runs efficiently and safely Maintaining accurate records of work carried out Essential Skills Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled) Strong hands-on, practical ability — confident using tools and fixing mechanical/electrical equipment Interest in how things work — you may enjoy working on your car, dismantling electronics, or DIY projects Understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles Willingness to travel and stay away overnight occasionally Full, clean UK driving licence Enthusiastic, willing to learn, and not afraid to get your hands dirty Desirable Skills Previous experience in a maintenance, service, or production engineering role (e.g., placement year or summer job) Familiarity with fault-finding techniques and basic electrical circuits Knowledge of health and safety practices in an industrial environment Training On-the-job training provided by experienced engineers Continuous development to build skills across both mechanical and electrical disciplines Opportunities to gain additional qualifications and industry certifications Clear career progression pathway within the engineering and manufacturing team Contact If you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity, apply today by clicking the link below or get in touch with our recruitment team to find out more People Solutions do not charge any of their candidates any fees or request deposits at any stage of the recruitment process
