We are now looking for a Factory Technician who will work on board our vessels in Antarctica. Factory Technician The Factory Technician reports to the Factory Manager on board and is responsible for Krill Meal and Krill Oil production onboard the vessel during his/her shift. Maintenance work of factory equipment must be expected. The Factory Technician may also be set to operate other machinery and being involved in other production onboard the ship. The position is not set to a specific vessel and may change during the season if required or by request from management. Responsibilities during operation Responsible for operating production process and make sure that production is optimized during operation, in accordance with quality and safety procedures Participate in maintenance work as requested by Factory Manager and Factory Mechanic during factory shut-downs, shipyard stays and lay-ups Participate in other jobs as requested by Factory Manager Report to Factory Manager and/or Factory Mechanic regarding any changes of inventory Keep up to date all processing logs as required Create handover notes before crew-change for on-boarding Factory Technician Learn and understand how to use ERP system TM Master as required Professional qualifications: A background as process engineer or process technician Relevant competence and experience from process operation, preferably within the fishmeal industry Knowledge of Scada systems for process control Technical and mechanical understanding Personal qualifications: Have good English knowledge (work language) Enjoy working in an international team Appreciate new challenges Drive and self-motivation, seeking out new tasks and improvements CV must reflect required qualifications specified. We offer: A safe and attractive workplace Possibility for entrance into a fixed position on board Fixed annual salary Good working environment on board Pension and insurance scheme 12/7 shift; 12 hours on, 12 hours off, 7 days a week for the entire rotation Shift rotation: One shift on (ca three months incl travels) and two shifts off, averaging 150 sea days per year and about 120 - 135 days off between trips. Travel to and from fishing ground is about one week each way at the beginning and the end of the rotation, using ports in Uruguay, Chile, and Falkland Islands for embarkation on cargo and passenger vessel, bringing crew to fishing vessels on fishing ground. Location: Vessel/Antarctica Travel and rotation Crew changes are normally arranged in Montevideo, Punta Arenas and Puerto Williams.
