Shift: Monday to Friday: 3:30pm - 12:00am (40 hours/week) Starting Wage: $39.02/hour Description The Diesel Mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs assigned on-/off-road and heavy duty equipment to ensure proper function and vehicle safety and meet quality and performance goals. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair on- / off-road and heavy duty vehicles and equipment to meet preventative maintenance schedules, ensure proper function, and meet vehicle safety and quality goals Assist with entering data in the mechanic’s maintenance and repair database (e.g., Web Fleet Assistant (WFA)) Communicates concerns or escalates unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager Responds to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers Maintain a clean and safe work environment Additional Responsibilities Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership Prior experience with computerized maintenance systems & procedures Demonstrated ability to work alone in fast paced environment Team player Education Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license Experience Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license Vaild Class 1 driver's license Clear driver’s abstract that meets Purolator’s insurance requirements.
