Subspecialty Family Practice or Internal Medicine Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Mandatory Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License Full Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) Mandatory Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) Mandatory Role and Facility Information Delta Hospital (DH) is seeking qualified physicians to join our Hospitalist program in a permanent part time/fulltime or locum capacity. Applicants should have a strong interest in developing an acute care hospital practice and working collaboratively with all members of the inter-professional team, including Medical and Allied Health staff. Primary responsibilities include admission and management of acute medical patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP). This job requires superior clinical and communication skills, along with exceptional bedside manner. Our team members must demonstrate a commitment to the evolving specialty of hospital medicine. Experience at Delta Hospital is an asset, but not necessary. The Hospitalist program at Delta Hospital provides 24-hr coverage, 10 hour daytime shifts, 8 hour evening admission shift and 9 hour rotating overnight call shifts. The average patient census is 58, with four hospitalists covering each day and one during the evening hours. The overnight call is a virtual line from home. You can do up to 20% of patient care from home with remote access. Eligibility: Candidates must be licensed or (eligible for licensure) with College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) and have either CCFP (or equivalent) credentials. Certification in ACLS is preferred. Hospitalist experience is strongly suggested. Compensation: per physician master agreement. Full-time work is 14 days per month, or 1680 hours per year. Part-time work is anticipated to be approximately 50% of those hours, with option for additional shifts. Locum coverage is anyone on a roster to pick up shifts.
