Job Description
Key Responsibilities: - Greet, prepare, and support patients prior to ultrasound procedures with professionalism and empathy. - Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including: o Abdominal o Pelvic o Musculoskeletal (MSK) o Vascular o Small parts o Neonatal scans - Record and document relevant patient history and scan findings accurately. - Ensure informed consent is obtained and verify patient details for billing accuracy. - Collaborate with radiologists, referring doctors, and internal staff to support clinical decision-making. - Maintain ultrasound equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and participate in routine quality control checks. - Assist with the supervision and guidance of student sonographers when required. Minimum Requirements: - Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound. - Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Diagnostic Sonographer. - Completed community service. - Minimum of 3 years' post-community service experience. - Proficient in a wide range of scans across disciplines. - Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient care. - Demonstrated ability to manage diverse patient profiles with empathy and professionalism. - Exposure to soft skills training (e.g., customer service, time management) is advantageous.
