Financial Accountant

Job Purpose: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support financial planning and analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Manage accounts payable and receivable functions Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations Process journals, accruals, and adjustments Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting Ensure timely submission of statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax) Assist in internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation Maintain accurate and complete financial records Provide financial analysis and support to management for decision-making Enforce internal controls and assist in their continuous improvement Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost allocations and reporting Minimum Requirements: Education: National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent Experience: 35 years of relevant accounting experience Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, SAP, Xero, QuickBooks) Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, financial modeling) Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and under pressure Strong organizational and communication skills Preferred: Professional designation or registration (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA, ACCA) Experience in [insert industry, e.g., manufacturing, retail, logistics] Familiarity with IFRS or GAAP standards
