Job Description
Reporting to: Asia Pacific Commercial Manager Maersk Australia Branch Manager, Lae Headquarter Job Summary: Seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial and Sales Manager to lead and drive our commercial and sales functions across Papua New Guinea. This role is responsible for overseeing sales strategy, performance, client engagement, rate management, and operational alignment with regional Maersk goals. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and collaborative leader capable of delivering measurable business results while maintaining strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities: Commercial & Sales Strategy Oversee all Maersk commercial and sales related matters in PNG, ensuring alignment with Asia Pacific regional objectives. Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth across key ports including Lae, Madang, and Wewak. Prepare quarterly or semi-annual forecast analysis and rate targets for nominated clients and submit to Maersk Trade Manager as required. Create and deliver quotations to clients upon request, using either contracted rates or Maersk Spot rates, ensuring competitiveness and accuracy. Client Engagement & Service Excellence Serve as the primary point of contact for Maersks commercial sales in Papua New Guinea. Champion customer service excellence, driving high CSAT scores and fostering long-term client loyalty. Attend client onboarding sessions on behalf of Customer Service to ensure all processes are in place for smooth and timely Respond to client inquiries and issues via Maersk website or Salesforce when Customer Experience (CX) team support is Manage and resolve escalations in coordination with CX teams, ensuring timely and satisfactory outcomes. Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead and mentor the Commercial and Sales team, setting clear performance goals and supporting professional development. Promote cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure end-to-end process efficiency. Foster a performance-driven culture while maintaining team motivation and alignment with company values. Reporting & Analytics Analyze and report monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) performance of Sales and Commercial functions, using insights to guide
