About the Role: As a Deli Clerk, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the deli department operates smoothly and efficiently. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and serve a variety of deli products, including meats, cheeses, and prepared foods, while maintaining high standards of quality and freshness. You will also be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring that products are stocked and displayed attractively, and adhering to food safety regulations. Additionally, you will engage with customers, taking their orders, answering questions, and providing recommendations to enhance their shopping experience. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overall success of the deli department and the satisfaction of our customers. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a food service or retail environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a deli or grocery store setting. Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices. Responsibilities: Prepare and slice deli meats and cheeses according to customer specifications. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli counter and surrounding areas. Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and answering inquiries. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to ensure product availability. Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe shopping environment. Skills: The required skills for this position include strong customer service abilities, which will be utilized daily as you interact with customers and assist them with their orders. Attention to detail is essential when preparing and presenting deli products, ensuring that everything meets quality standards. Time management skills will help you efficiently handle multiple tasks, such as slicing meats, stocking shelves, and maintaining cleanliness.
