Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employee Relations Specialist for a multi-site retail business in East Riding of Yorkshire. Reporting to the Employee Relations Manager, the ER Specialist will play a critical role in supporting managers with a wide range of employee relations matters, from disciplinaries and grievances to absence and performance management. You will offer coaching and mentoring to line managers to help them resolve casework confidently, professionally, and in line with policy and agreed timescales. Key Responsibilities: Providing expert advice on ER casework, ensuring consistency and compliance with internal policy and employment law. Partnering with line managers to build capability and confidence in handling people matters. Supporting or leading investigations, hearings, and appeals when needed. Tracking and reporting on ER trends, helping the wider HR team proactively manage people risk. Contributing to continuous improvement in ER policies, processes, and training. Support the ongoing development of the ER Advisors within the team, providing them exposure to more complex cases. Skills & Experience: Strong ER background within manufacturing, retail, or a similar fast-paced environment. Experience working closely with line managers to resolve complex ER cases. Solid understanding of UK employment law and best practice. A confident communicator who’s calm under pressure and solutions-focused. Comfortable working on-site 4 days per week in East Yorkshire (1 day flexible). This is a permanent role based in East Riding of Yorkshire, offering c£45,000 per annum plus package.
