Mechanical Design Engineer

AA Euro Group has been retained by one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancies to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for a permanent position based in their Newcastle office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of projects including commercial, healthcare, industrial, and more – all within a supportive and development-focused environment. Responsibilities: Support the detailed design and documentation of mechanical building services Assist in preparing technical reports, specifications, and project documentation Collaborate with internal teams and coordinate design with other engineering disciplines Contribute to service drawings and design calculations under supervision Attend site visits, surveys, and meetings where required Support the implementation of health & safety and quality assurance procedures Take part in ongoing professional development and structured training Requirements: Degree qualified (Level 7 or above) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline 2–5 years’ experience in building services/mechanical design (consultancy or contractor background) Working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or HEVACOMP is beneficial Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills Interest or experience in sectors such as healthcare, retail, education, and commercial is an advantage Keen to grow within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team What’s on Offer: A permanent position with one of the UK’s top consultancies Involvement in technically diverse and high-impact projects Career development opportunities with mentoring and structured CPD Hybrid/flexible working may be available
