Data Governance Engineer

Social network you want to login/join with: You will be responsible for scaling, automation, and optimizing HBX data governance policies and processes across the entire data lifecycle. This role is a key contributor to delivering and successfully executing the Data Governance Roadmap. You will be actively involved in creating the company's data quality foundations by developing and implementing technical solutions related to: Data Governance & Management policies as code Automatic Data Observability and Quality metrics implementation Effective Metadata Management & Data Catalogue Automation of Data Policies and Procedures Automation of Data Security processes and controls Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Data Governance Office, this role will be responsible for: Designing and implementing automatic Data Governance policies and procedures, detecting bad practices, and preventing data quality issues across various data layers and phases of the data lifecycle Designing and implementing automatic Data Management policies and controls (policy as code) to prevent data misuse Designing and implementing automatic Data Quality controls and validation metrics Designing and implementing automatic Data Observability alerts & workflows Collaborating with the Data Governance Enterprise Architect to design the optimal data architecture & infrastructure for governed and quality data extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse sources using SQL, Python, and AWS technologies Building and deploying Data Governance tools to support Data Analysts and Data Scientists in developing innovative products Skills Education: Master's Degree in BI & Data Analytics, Big Data Experience: Advanced Python skills and experience with enterprise applications and ML apps Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases Data Security management expertise (encryption, GDPR, PCI, etc.) Experience with root cause analysis and process improvement Experience in automation and administration of data systems Strong analytical skills with structured and unstructured data Technical Skills: Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms Proficiency in SQL, Python, RestAPI Experience with ETL tools like Airflow, Snowpipe Knowledge of data transformation tools such as dbt Familiarity with data management & governance platforms Experience with visualization tools like Tableau Proficiency with version control systems like Git Experience with documentation tools like Confluence Soft Skills: Project management methodologies: Agile, Scrum, Kanban End-to-end process orientation Strategic thinking Data literacy and promoting a data-driven culture Day-to-day activities: Managing the HBX Data Platform Stack's security, user management, roles, and policies Implementing automated data governance policies and preventive controls Designing detective controls and alerts across tools and processes Ensuring system connectivity via API for data governance and consistency Implementing data security policies in compliance with regulations like GDPR Supporting full data lifecycle management in accordance with data retention policies J-18808-Ljbffr
