Job Description: City Manager for DoctorsinItaly Fellowship DoctorsinItaly is a purpose-driven startup, founded in 2018 and accelerated by Bocconi University’s startup program. Our mission is to lower language and cultural barriers in healthcare through experiential learning programs that bring international students to Italy to shadow doctors and experience Italian culture and lifestyle. The Fellowship offers clinical rotations at top hospitals in Italy combined with cultural discovery experiences, fostering personal growth, professional development, and lifelong friendships among a global community of future healthcare professionals. About the Role We are seeking a reliable professional with a background in education, event management, or travel, fluent in English and Italian, with excellent people skills and a good knowledge of Rome, Genoa, or Milan. As City Manager, you will lead the City Management Team, managing groups of 10-20 university students visiting Italy for the Fellowship Program. Your responsibilities include organizing activities, ensuring safety, and acting as a mentor and group leader. Responsibilities Manage student groups during hospital observations, coordinating with medical staff. Plan and oversee hospital rotations in collaboration with hospital administration. Arrange housing, transportation, tours, meals, and other activities. Ensure student safety and well-being, providing guidance and support, with 24/7 availability for emergencies. Conduct welcome and informational sessions. Monitor local political, health, safety, and security conditions, alerting the Risk Management Team as needed. Manage city budget and expenses, generating reports. Maintain communication with partner hospitals, universities, and student families. Develop relationships with local providers and partners. Desired Skills and Experience Relevant experience in hospitality, event management, education, travel, or customer service. Fluent or native in Italian and English. Passion for working with young people and excellent communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage crises. Proven experience in creating engaging events and activities. Attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to promote diversity and cultural understanding. Interest in international experiences, travel, and cultural discovery. High ethical standards, trustworthiness, and dedication to excellence.
