Data Governance Engineer

Social network you want to login/join with: You will be responsible for scaling, automation, and optimizing HBX data governance policies and processes across the entire data lifecycle. This role is a key contributor to delivering and successfully executing the Data Governance Roadmap. You will be actively involved in creating the company's data quality foundations by developing and delivering technical solutions related to: Data Governance & Management policies as code Automatic Data Observability and Quality metrics implementation Effective Metadata Management & Data Catalogue Automation of Data Policies and Procedures Automation of Data Security processes and controls Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Data Governance Office, this role will be responsible for: Designing and implementing automatic Data Governance policies and procedures, detecting bad practices, and preventing data quality issues across different data layers and phases of the data lifecycle. Designing and implementing automatic Data Management policies , procedures, and controls (policy as code) to prevent data misusage. Designing and implementing automatic Data Quality validation, metrics, and controls . Designing and implementing automatic Data Observability alerts & workflows . Collaborating with the Data Governance Enterprise Architect to design the optimal data architecture & infrastructure for governed and quality data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources using SQL, Python, and AWS big data technologies. Building and deploying Data Governance tools to support Data Analysts and Data Scientists in building and optimizing our products. Skills Education: Master's Degree in BI & Data Analytics, Big Data Experience: Proficiency in Python (libraries, packages) and experience with various databases for enterprise applications and ML. Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases, query writing, and database management. Knowledge of Data Security management (encryption, masking, GDPR, PCI, secrets, SSO, MFA). Experience conducting root cause analysis on data and processes to answer business questions and identify improvements. Experience in data systems automation and administration. Strong analytical skills with structured and unstructured data. Technical Skills: Management of Cloud Data Warehouse Platforms: Snowflake or similar Programming: SQL, Python, RestAPI Data Ingestion / ETL tools: Airflow, Snowpipe, or similar Data Transformation: dbt or similar Data management & Governance platforms: Collate/Open Metadata, Collibra, Infosphere, Montecarlo, Informatica Data Visualization Tools: Tableau or similar Version Control: Bitbucket, GitLab, or GitHub Documentation: Atlassian Confluence or similar Soft Skills: Project Management: Agile, Scrum, Kanban End-to-end process orientation Strategic thinking Data literacy and promoting a data-driven culture Day-to-day activities: Governance and management of the HBX Data Platform Stack, including security, user roles, permissions, and policies. Design and implement automated data governance policies and preventive controls. Implement detective controls and alerts for data governance across tools and processes. Ensure connectivity and interoperability of data platform components via APIs. Develop data security policies, roles, and permissions to ensure compliance with regulations like GDPR and internal policies.
