Data Governance Engineer

Social network you want to login/join with: You will be responsible for scaling, automation, and optimizing HBX data governance policies and processes across the entire data lifecycle. This role is a key contributor to delivering and executing the Data Governance Roadmap, with active involvement in creating the company's data quality foundations through developing and implementing technical solutions such as: Data Governance & Management policies as code Automatic Data Observability and Quality metrics implementation Effective Metadata Management & Data Catalogue Automation of Data Policies and Procedures Automation of Data Security processes and controls Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Data Governance Office, this role will: Design and implement automatic Data Governance policies and procedures, detect bad practices, and prevent data quality issues across the data stack and lifecycle Design and implement automatic Data Management policies and controls (policy as code) to prevent data misuse Develop automatic Data Quality validation, metrics, and controls Create automatic Data Observability alerts and workflows Coordinate with Data Governance Enterprise Architect to design the optimal data architecture & infrastructure for governed data extraction, transformation, and loading using SQL, Python, and AWS technologies Build or deploy Data Governance tools to support Data Analysts and Data Scientists in product development Skills: Education: Master's Degree in BI & Data Analytics, Big Data Experience: Advanced Python knowledge and experience with databases for enterprise applications and ML Advanced SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases Data Security management experience (encryption, masking, GDPR, PCI, secrets, SSO, MFA) Experience in root cause analysis and process improvement Automation and administration of data systems Strong analytical skills with structured and unstructured data Technical Skills: Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms Proficiency in SQL, Python, RestAPI Experience with ETL tools like Airflow, Snowpipe Knowledge of data transformation tools like dbt Familiarity with Data Management & Governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica) Experience with visualization tools like Tableau Proficiency with Git repositories and documentation tools like Atlassian Confluence Soft Skills: Project management skills (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) End-to-end process orientation Strategic thinking Data literacy and fostering a data-driven culture Day-to-day activities: Govern and manage the HBX Data Platform Stack regarding security, user management, roles, permissions, and policies Design and implement automated data governance policies and controls Develop detective controls and alerts for data governance Ensure connectivity and interoperability of data platform components via API Implement data security policies ensuring compliance with regulations like GDPR Support data lifecycle management in line with data retention policies J-18808-Ljbffr
