Utility Pipe Layer

Role Overview: This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year-round. * Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing * Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers * Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement or glue * Cover pipes with earth or other materials * Cut pipes to required lengths * Dig trenches to desired or required depts, by hand or using trenching tools * Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools * Install and repair water, stormwater & sewer structures and pipe systems * Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisors. * Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors * All other duties as assigned by supervisor Minimum requirements: As a successful Utility Pipe Layer, you will have: * High School diploma or General Education Degree, or equivalent experience. * Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record CDL preferred. * Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays Additional Information: Knife River is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
