Job Description
About Ukio | Ukio’s mission is to empower individuals to live where they want, when they want. We do this by disrupting the traditional residential real estate market, providing fully furnished and artfully designed apartments for stays starting at one month. We remove all the hassle around finding a rental with no long-term contracts, moving/buying furniture, security deposits, broker fees, etc., giving choice and flexibility to allow people to live where and when they want. We are a Barcelona-based startup with offices in Madrid, Lisbon, Berlin, and Paris. Soon we will expand to more cities across Europe. Backed by Europe's leading Venture Capital firms, the next year will be crucial for our growth as we build out our team and expand into new markets. We successfully raised €27 million in our Series A in 2022 and have recently secured a Series B round to support our expansion throughout Western Europe. Our culture | We value diversity, compassion, and honesty. Our team is a mix of dedicated, collaborative, and results-oriented individuals. We embrace the unknown, grant autonomy to our team members, and encourage building projects from scratch. Our team includes foodies, athletes, adventure seekers, and art enthusiasts. We enjoy fun team events regularly. Are you ready to join us? Role | As we expand into a new market, we seek a Guest Operations Manager to establish and scale our local operations. As Operations City Manager, you will oversee our city portfolio, leading the Quality Assurance and Facilities Management teams. Your responsibilities include recruitment, training, property inspections, inventory management, and ensuring guest satisfaction. This role requires a proactive, solutions-focused approach and collaboration across teams. We seek someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth environment—someone passionate about building high-performing teams, shaping culture, and creating lasting systems. Your leadership will shape our presence in this market and lay the foundation for success. Responsibilities | Team Leadership & Collaboration Recruit, train, and mentor team members; manage schedules for daily operations. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development. Collaborate with Guest Experience and other teams to improve service and guest satisfaction. Operational Excellence Manage check-in/check-out processes for guests. Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality. Track operational metrics, analyze data, and report performance. Maintain backend operational data, including BOQs and costs. Inventory & Logistics Management Oversee city inventory of essentials, ensuring safety stock and reporting issues to the Design team. Vendor & Contractor Management Manage relationships with local contractors and vendors; negotiate agreements. Handle contractor sourcing, trials, and performance evaluations. Maintenance & Field Operations Serve as escalation point for maintenance issues, coordinating with stakeholders. Coordinate contractor services for ongoing maintenance. About you | At least 3 years experience as a Hospitality or Guest Operations Manager or similar. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Fluent in Italian and English. Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable with ambiguity. Effective in cross-functional teams. Thrives in a startup environment. Strong leadership abilities. Capable of improving operational processes for efficiency. Detail-oriented and a great planner. J-18808-Ljbffr
