Role Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Product Development Engineer to lead end-to-end product development. The role involves analysing market trends, competitor benchmarking, defining cost-effective specifications, preparing BOMs and coordinating with vendors and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, market awareness, and vendor management skills to deliver high-quality, competitive bicycle products on time. Industry- EV Vehicle, Bicycle, Automobiles Key Responsibilities: 1. Product Planning & Specification Development • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product concepts and specifications aligned with market needs. • Determine cost-effective yet high-performance components and materials for new models • Prepare comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) with detailed specifications 2. Market Research & Competitor Benchmarking • Conduct in-depth benchmarking of competitors across online platforms and offline retail markets • Identify current trends, consumer preferences and innovative features in the bicycle category • Analyze competitor specifications and pricing strategies to enhance product competitiveness 3. Vendor Coordination & Cost Optimization • Engage with vendors to finalize product specifications and ensure timely component availability • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers to meet target cost and quality standards 4. Project Execution & Cross-functional Alignment • Manage the end-to-end product development cycle, including timelines, deliverables and issue resolution • Coordinate with design, sourcing, QA, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth execution • Rigorous follow-ups with vendors & progress updates to internal stakeholders and leadership 5. Prototyping, Tooling & Sample Preparation • Oversee prototype development, including drawing creation, sample approval and testing • Support the design and development of tooling, jigs and fixtures as required Key Skills: • B.E./B.Tech. in Industrial, Mechanical, Production or related field • 3 to 5 years of experience in new product development, preferably in bicycles or Auto(2W) sector • Proficient in preparing and managing BOMs and technical specifications • Knowledge of bicycle components, materials, and frame geometry • Hands-on experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) • Vendor sourcing, evaluation, and cost negotiation skills• Familiarity with compliance standards (ISO, EN, BIS) • Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
