Data Governance Engineer

You will be responsible for scaling, automation, and optimizing HBX data governance policies and processes across the entire data lifecycle. This role is a key contributor to delivering and executing the Data Governance Roadmap and involves creating data quality foundations by developing and implementing technical solutions such as: Data Governance & Management policies as code Automated Data Observability and Quality metrics Effective Metadata Management & Data Catalogue Automation of Data Policies and Procedures Automation of Data Security processes and controls Responsibilities : Reporting to the Head of Data Governance Office, this role will be responsible for: Designing and implementing automated Data Governance policies, procedures, and detection of bad practices to prevent data quality issues across data layers and lifecycle phases Developing automatic Data Management policies, procedures, and controls (policy as code) to prevent data misuse Creating automatic Data Quality validation controls, metrics, and alerts Designing Data Observability alerts and workflows Collaborating with Data Governance Enterprise Architect to design optimal data architecture and infrastructure for governed, high-quality data extraction, transformation, and loading using SQL, Python, and AWS technologies Building or deploying Data Governance tools to support Data Analysts and Data Scientists in product development Skills Education in Computer & Information Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Master’s degree in BI & Data Analytics or Big Data is preferred. Experience Advanced Python skills with experience in enterprise applications and ML development Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases Experience in Data Security management (encryption, masking, GDPR, PCI, secrets management, SSO, MFA) Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and process improvement Experience in Data systems automation and administration Technical Skills Experience managing Cloud Data Warehouse Platforms like Snowflake Programming in SQL, Python, RestAPI Using Data Ingestion/ETL tools like Airflow, Snowpipe Data Transformation with tools like dbt Familiarity with Data Governance platforms such as Collibra, Infosphere, Montecarlo, Informatica Proficiency in Data Visualization tools like Tableau Version control with Git repositories Documentation : Atlassian Confluence or similar Soft Skills Project Management with Agile, Scrum, Kanban methodologies End-to-end process orientation and strategic thinking Strong data literacy and promotion of a data-driven culture Day-to-day Activities Governance and management of the HBX Data Platform Stack, including security, user roles, permissions, and policy implementation Design and implement automated data governance policies and preventive controls Set up detective controls and alerts across tools and processes Ensure system connectivity via API for data platform components Develop data security policies to ensure compliance with regulations like GDPR and internal standards Manage the full data lifecycle, including upgrades, management, decommissioning, and archiving in line with data retention policies J-18808-Ljbffr
