Data Governance Engineer

You will be responsible for scaling, automation, and optimizing HBX data governance policies and processes across the entire data lifecycle. This role is a key contributor to delivering and successfully executing the Data Governance Roadmap. You will be actively involved in creating the company's data quality foundations by developing and delivering technical solutions related to: Data Governance & Management policies as code Automatic Data Observability and Quality metrics implementation Effective and efficient Metadata Management & Data Catalogue Data Policies and Procedures automation Data Security processes and controls automation Responsibilities : Reporting to the Head of Data Governance Office, this role will be responsible for: Designing and implementing automatic Data Governance policies and procedures, detecting bad practices, and preventing data quality issues across different layers of the data stack and phases of the data lifecycle Designing and implementing automatic Data Management policies, procedures, and controls (policy as code) to prevent data misuse Designing and implementing automatic Data Quality controls, validation, metrics, and alerts Designing and implementing automatic Data Observability alerts and workflows Collaborating with the Data Governance Enterprise Architect to design the optimal data architecture and infrastructure for governed and quality data extraction, transformation, and loading, using SQL, Python, and AWS big data technologies Building and deploying Data Governance tools for Data Analysts and Data Scientists to support product innovation Skills Education Degree in Computer & Information Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, BI & Data Analytics, or Big Data Experience Advanced Python knowledge and experience with databases for enterprise applications and ML Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases Data Security management experience (encryption, masking, GDPR, PCI, secrets, SSO, MFA) Experience in root cause analysis and data system automation Strong analytical skills with structured and unstructured data Technical Skills Experience with Cloud Data Warehouse Platforms like Snowflake or similar Programming in SQL, Python, RestAPI Data Ingestion/ETL tools like Airflow, Snowpipe, or similar Data Transformation tools such as dbt or similar Knowledge of Data Management & Governance platforms like Collate, Open Metadata, Collibra, Infosphere, Montecarlo, Informatica Experience with Cloud Data Visualization Tools and version control (Bitbucket, Gitlab, Github) Proficiency with documentation tools like Atlassian Confluence Soft Skills Project management skills and process orientation Strategic thinking and data literacy Day-to-day activities Managing the overall HBX Data Platform Stack, including security, user management, roles, and permissions Designing and implementing automated data governance policies and controls Developing detective controls and alerts across tools and processes Ensuring connectivity and governance via API integrations Implementing data security policies to ensure compliance with regulations like GDPR and internal standards Supporting the full data lifecycle, including upgrades, management, decommissioning, and archiving in accordance with data retention policies J-18808-Ljbffr
