Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Consultant, the Clinical Nurse provides advanced, comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to consumers engaging in intensive community-based treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team. This position involves, triage, clinical monitoring and day program support functions on a rotational basis. The role acts as a role model, providing leadership, support, team building and change management through respect, recognition and collaboration. and upholds the core values of the organisation of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork & Integrity. The Clinical Nurse practices in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Making Flowchart. The North Metropolitan Eating Disorders Specialist Service (NMEDSS) is an intensive community mental health setting operating within a stepped care framework for eating disorders treatment. Consumers may be stepping down from hospital treatment or stepping up from primary care for their eating disorder. The service provides a comprehensive day program, specialist multi-disciplinary outpatient clinics, intensive clinical monitoring and care transition and coordination between services.
