Job Description & Requirements Specialty: MRI Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 07/07/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, evenings Employment Type: Local Contract Job Title: MRI Technologist Location: Brooklyn, NY 11203 Department: MRI Schedule: 4:00 PM-12:00 AM / 40 Hours/Week | 8 Hours/Day | 5 Days/Week Pay rate : $ 55 - $ 59 per hour on W2 Position Summary: The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic imaging using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce high-quality scans for clinical interpretation. This role requires thorough knowledge of MRI safety practices, strong patient care skills, and the ability to operate advanced imaging technology. Key Responsibilities: Conduct MRI safety screenings and patient interviews prior to procedures. Verify patient identity using two (2) approved identifiers at every contact point in the MRI suite. Explain procedures clearly to patients and respond to any questions or concerns. Position patients safely and appropriately for optimal imaging quality. Operate and adjust MRI equipment and software parameters based on imaging requirements. Ensure a safe environment in MRI Zone IV for patients, staff, and visitors. Monitor patients during scans to ensure comfort and safety. Clean MRI equipment and maintain a clean imaging environment after each use. Perform quality control and calibration of imaging equipment; report malfunctions promptly. Maintain inventory and anticipate supply needs. Review images for quality and completeness; label images accurately. Document patient encounters and procedures in the EMR system. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required experience: Minimum of one (1) year of MRI experience with relevant imaging equipment. Proficient in MRI safety protocols and image quality assessment. Education Requirements: Associate's degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Licenses & Certifications: Valid Radiologic Technologist license from NYSDOH. Advanced MRI Certification from ARRT or ARMRIT. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
