Pay Information $2,039 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night or Day (3x12-Hour) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale Certification preferred Must-Have: High acuity progressive care patient experience Strong infection prevention knowledge Patient fall prevention strategies Experience in telemetry monitoring Description: The position involves working in a high acuity progressive care environment. The unit specializes in medical oncology and includes progressive care beds for pediatric patients. A minimum of 2 years of oncology experience is preferred, but not required. Nurses must be prepared to manage a variety of patient diagnoses, including solid tumors and orthopedic oncology. The unit is equipped with advanced telemetry technology and various medical equipment. The nurse is responsible for the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of rapid response teams. Candidates should be skilled in feeding tube care, blood product administration, and central line management. Nurses will also need to manage cardiac drips and perform IV starts. Additional responsibilities include managing external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and interpreting ABGs. Skills in wound care, chemotherapy administration, and arterial line management are advantageous. Successful candidates will receive orientation and training within the first two weeks of employment. The schedule has flexibility, with no set weekends and the possibility of working every weekend. Candidates must be adaptable to unit needs and willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Orientation will consist of a combination of classroom and on-unit training, totaling 24 hours.
