Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to manage and optimize our sourcing and purchasing processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for acquiring goods and services in a cost-effective and timely manner while ensuring quality standards are met. This role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier relationship management, and the ability to analyze market trends. Key Responsibilities: Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, equipment, and services in accordance with company policies and procedures. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality and timely delivery. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time, and best prices. Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and supplier agreements. Analyze purchasing trends and prepare procurement reports. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to forecast procurement needs. Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., finance, operations, logistics) to ensure procurement requirements are met. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for auditing and compliance purposes. Identify cost-saving opportunities and work to reduce procurement expenses. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in procurement processes. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, APICS) is a plus. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is desirable. Knowledge of contract management and supplier evaluation methodologies.
