Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CT Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 07/07/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Required Skills & Experience: Knowledge of medical terminology, isolation, and sterile techniques/procedures. Proficient in patient positioning and equipment operation (e.g., X-ray machines and printers). Minimum 2 years of related experience preferred. Required Education: Graduation from an ARRT accredited Radiologic Technology program. Required Certifications & Licensure: ARRT Certification. Ohio License as a Radiographer. BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification (American Heart Association). Job Description: To operate CT scanners and obtain diagnostic images of specified body parts as requested. The technologist must be able to produce quality images for the radiologist’s interpretation and function independently with minimal supervision. Job Responsibilities: Greet patients, introduce yourself, and ask patients to verify their name and birthdate. Take pertinent patient history. Review the order for the procedure, including documentation, current medications, allergy information, and completed questionnaires. Explain the procedure to the patient and address any questions to ensure understanding. Anticipate the needs of patients, keep them and their families informed of delays, answer questions, and respond to concerns. Follow up on issues or escalate as necessary. Maintain professional communication with patients, coworkers, physicians, and office staff, respecting all differences. Adhere to all hospital/Imaging Center policies and Excel core values, striving to exceed expectations. Position the patient, conduct scans, and archive procedures according to established protocols, ensuring diagnostic images meet quality control parameters. Utilize proper venipuncture techniques to prepare patients for contrast media administration as needed. Administer contrast media according to protocol or physician instructions. Ensure proper labeling of syringes in line with policy. Prepare, administer, and document medications used during procedures. Reconcile patient medications to prevent interaction with contrast media. Complete all tasks in a timely, efficient, and productive manner. Assist coworkers in other modalities, such as starting IVs, completing computer functions, and preparing patients. Assist physicians with invasive procedures as applicable. Verify physician orders for accuracy and act upon them appropriately. Use radiation-reducing techniques to ensure high-quality images without compromising safety. Protect patients, yourself, and all personnel from unnecessary radiation exposure. Properly wear and store dosimeters, switching them out monthly. Use appropriate devices for moving patients, ensuring the safety of both the patient and yourself. Observe patients and provide assistance to minimize the risk of falls or other injuries.
